Royal Army Medical Corps
The Great Leap
It is often said that 'war has driven medical advances' as seen in this BBC news article. This is invariably true, and the advances made during the course of the Second World War were remarkable, and innovations such as Penicillin gave the Allies a massive strategic advantage over their opponents. Every Allied serviceman in Normandy was well aware of the massive medical support they enjoyed and was well aware that if they were injured every attempt would be made to keep them alive and restore them to good health.
